Wall-Mount Racks & Enclosures

Shop wall-mount racks and enclosures for network switches, patch panels, communication equipment, compact UPS systems and other rack-mounted devices. Wall-mounted enclosures provide organized equipment storage while conserving valuable floor space in network closets, offices, retail locations, classrooms and distributed edge installations.

Compare wall-mount racks by rack height, usable depth, load capacity, door style, hinge configuration, ventilation and cable-access options. Verify both equipment dimensions and wall-support requirements before selecting an enclosure.

How to Select a Wall-Mount Rack or Enclosure

Wall-mounted racks are useful where rack-mounted networking or communication equipment must be installed without dedicating floor space to a full-size cabinet. They are commonly used for switches, patch panels, routers, network appliances and smaller power-protection equipment.

Equipment depth is especially important in wall-mounted applications. Switch-depth enclosures may be appropriate for patching and shallow network hardware, while server-depth models provide additional clearance for deeper equipment and rear connections.

Important Selection Factors

  • Rack height: Choose sufficient U-space for equipment, cable management and future expansion.
  • Usable depth: Verify that the deepest installed device fits with room for connectors and cabling.
  • Load capacity: Include the weight of all mounted equipment and accessories.
  • Wall structure: Ensure the mounting surface and hardware can support the loaded enclosure.
  • Door style: Select solid, glass or ventilated doors according to security, visibility and cooling requirements.
  • Hinge design: Single- and double-hinged designs provide different levels of rear access.
  • Cable entry: Review top, bottom and rear cable-access requirements.
  • Ventilation: Consider passive ventilation or active cooling for heat-producing equipment.

Switch Depth vs. Server Depth

Switch-depth cabinets are designed for relatively shallow network equipment and patching hardware. Server-depth wall enclosures provide additional usable depth for larger equipment, UPS systems and applications requiring greater rear clearance.

Selection Checklist

  • Required rack height in U
  • Maximum equipment depth
  • Total loaded weight
  • Switch-depth or server-depth requirement
  • Door and hinge configuration
  • Cable-entry requirements
  • Ventilation or fan requirements
  • Wall construction and mounting requirements
