RF Attenuators & Terminators

Shop RF attenuators and terminators for controlling signal level and properly terminating coaxial RF connections. Wallco offers inline F-type attenuators and BNC, F-type, N-type and other RF termination components in multiple impedance and attenuation values.

Compare components by connector series, impedance, attenuation value, frequency range, power rating and male or female interface.

RF Signal Attenuation and Termination

RF attenuators reduce signal amplitude by a specified amount, while terminators provide the proper load at an unused or end-of-line RF connection. Both are important for maintaining predictable behavior in coaxial signal systems.

Inline RF Attenuators

Inline attenuators provide a fixed reduction in signal level and are commonly specified in decibels. Select the attenuation value required by the system while matching impedance, connector type and operating frequency.

F-Type Attenuators

F-type inline attenuators are commonly used in 75-ohm CATV, television and broadband coaxial systems. They are available in several fixed attenuation values for reducing an excessive RF signal to a suitable level.

BNC and RF Terminators

Terminators connect to an unused RF port or transmission-line endpoint and provide the specified impedance. BNC terminators may be available in 50-ohm, 75-ohm, 93-ohm and other configurations depending on the equipment and cable system.

Connector and Impedance Compatibility

Match the attenuator or terminator to both the physical connector series and the electrical impedance of the system. A component that physically fits is not necessarily electrically appropriate for the RF application.

Selecting an RF Attenuator or Terminator

Identify the connector and system impedance first. For attenuators, determine the required dB reduction and operating frequency; for terminators, verify impedance, connector gender and any required power or frequency rating.
