Reverse-polarity RF connectors use the outer mechanical interface of a familiar RF connector family while changing the center-contact arrangement. They are commonly found on wireless, antenna and communications equipment where the mating interface intentionally differs from a standard-polarity connector.
RP-SMA and reverse-polarity TNC are common configurations in wireless and antenna systems. Standard and reverse-polarity versions may look similar externally, so the center contact and mating equipment should be inspected carefully before selecting a replacement.
Reverse-polarity versions and transitions are also available for selected N-Type and BNC applications. Match both the connector family and polarity because a standard connector is not automatically compatible with its reverse-polarity counterpart.
