APC NetShelter racks and enclosures provide the physical platform for servers, networking, rack PDUs, UPS equipment, cable management and other rack-mounted IT infrastructure.
NetShelter SX models are available in multiple rack heights, widths and depths. APC second-generation SX products emphasize higher load capacity and improved airflow for high-density server, networking and AI-related deployments.
Rack selection should account for more than rack units. Equipment depth, rail compatibility, static and dynamic load, cable routing, airflow, door perforation, side panels, floor anchoring and service access all influence the correct enclosure.
A 750 mm wide rack provides additional side space for cable management compared with narrower cabinets, while 1200 mm deep configurations can better accommodate deep servers and rear cable bend radius. The correct dimensions depend on the installed equipment and room layout.
APC offers extensive NetShelter mounting, shelving, cable-management and seismic accessories. For high-seismic or regulated installations, use the applicable APC rack and anchoring documentation rather than assuming a standard cabinet meets the requirement.
NetShelter SX is not specifically designed as an EMI/RFI shielding cabinet, according to APC support documentation.
Choose based on required rack space, growth, ceiling/doorway constraints and equipment weight. A taller rack adds U-space but also changes overall height and loading.
APC states NetShelter SX cabinets have not been tested for EMI/RFI and were not specifically designed as EMI/RFI cabinets.
