UPS Replacement Batteries

Shop replacement batteries and battery assemblies for compatible uninterruptible power supplies. UPS batteries gradually lose capacity with age, temperature and repeated discharge cycles, making periodic replacement necessary to maintain expected backup runtime.

Match replacement batteries to the complete UPS manufacturer and model number. Battery voltage, capacity, connector arrangement, physical dimensions and battery-management requirements must be compatible with the UPS.

How to Select a UPS Replacement Battery

Rechargeable UPS batteries have a finite service life. A UPS can continue operating normally from utility power even when its batteries have lost enough capacity that expected backup runtime is no longer available.

Replacement batteries should be selected using the complete UPS model and the manufacturer’s specified battery assembly. Physical appearance alone is not enough to establish compatibility because batteries can differ in voltage, capacity, connector arrangement, wiring configuration and battery-management requirements.

Important Selection Factors

  • UPS model: Identify the complete manufacturer and model number before selecting a replacement.
  • Battery voltage: Match the electrical configuration required by the UPS.
  • Battery capacity: Use the specified amp-hour capacity or approved replacement assembly.
  • Connector configuration: Confirm terminals, wiring harnesses and internal connections.
  • Physical dimensions: Verify that the replacement fits the UPS battery compartment.
  • Number of batteries: Some UPS systems require multiple battery cartridges or assemblies.
  • Operating temperature: Elevated temperatures can significantly affect battery service life.
  • Replacement procedure: Follow the UPS manufacturer’s instructions for safe removal, installation, testing and disposal.

Battery Runtime After Replacement

Installing new batteries restores available battery capacity but does not change the fundamental runtime capability of the UPS. Actual backup time still depends on the connected load, battery configuration, temperature and condition of the complete UPS system.
