Shop serial, parallel and D-sub adapters for computers, industrial equipment and legacy peripheral connections. Wallco offers DB9, DB15, DB25, RS-232, parallel, null-modem and gender-changing adapter configurations.
Compare adapters by connector type, connector gender, pin count, wiring function and equipment requirements.
Interface adapters provide physical transitions between compatible serial, parallel and D-sub connections used on computers, industrial equipment, test instruments and legacy peripherals. They may change connector size, connector gender or pin configuration depending on the application.
D-sub connectors are available in several common contact counts, including 9-pin, 15-pin and 25-pin configurations. Adapters can transition between compatible D-sub connector styles or provide the male-to-female, male-to-male or female-to-female configuration required by connected equipment.
RS-232 and other serial connections are widely used with industrial controllers, terminals, instrumentation, communications hardware and legacy computers. Serial adapters may change connector format or gender while maintaining an appropriate interface connection.
Parallel adapters are used with printer, computer and equipment interfaces that may use DB25, Centronics or related connector styles. Match both connector types as well as the intended interface before selecting an adapter.
Gender changers allow compatible connectors of the same general interface family to be joined when the equipment connection requires a different male or female arrangement. Connector gender alone does not establish electrical compatibility, so interface and pin configuration should also be verified.
Null-modem and other specialized serial adapters may change the internal signal arrangement as well as the physical connector configuration. These products should be selected according to the communication requirements of the connected devices.
Identify the connector type, contact count and gender at both sides of the connection. Also determine whether the application requires a simple physical gender change, a transition between connector styles or a specialized wiring configuration such as null-modem operation.
