Shop wire-to-board connector housings and crimp contacts for assembling removable cable connections to compatible PCB headers and wafers. Wallco offers single- and dual-row housings in multiple pin counts and contact spacings, along with compatible male and female crimp terminals.
Compare components by pitch, number of positions, row configuration, contact gender, wire gauge and compatibility with the mating PCB header.
Wire-to-board connector systems create detachable connections between individual wires or cable assemblies and circuit boards. A typical system combines a cable-side plastic housing with crimp contacts and a compatible PCB-mounted header or wafer.
Housing families are available in different contact spacings such as 2.00 mm, 2.50 mm, 2.54 mm and 3.96 mm. Pitch is a critical compatibility dimension, so housings and mating headers must use the same connector system and spacing.
Connector housings may arrange contacts in one or more rows and are available with different numbers of positions. Match the housing layout to the mating PCB header, including row count, pin count, polarization and latch features where applicable.
Loose crimp contacts terminate the individual conductors before they are inserted into the plastic housing. Select contacts according to the housing family, contact gender, supported wire gauge and required conductor insulation range.
The cable-side housing and PCB-mounted header work as a mating system. Verify pitch, number of positions, orientation and polarization before combining parts; similar-looking connector families may not mate even when their pin counts are the same.
Start with the mating connector family or PCB header, then identify pitch, row count and number of positions. Select the corresponding housing and confirm that the crimp contacts support the required wire gauge and conductor construction.
