As with conventional modular plugs, pass-through connectors may be designed for solid conductors, stranded conductors or a defined range of conductor types. Verify conductor construction before selecting the plug.
These connectors generally require a compatible termination tool capable of crimping the plug while trimming conductors that extend through its front. A conventional RJ45 crimper may not provide the required trimming action for every pass-through connector design.
