Shop RJ45 and modular crimping tools for terminating Ethernet, telephone and communications cable assemblies. Wallco offers crimpers for RJ45, RJ11, RJ12, pass-through modular plugs and other compatible modular connector formats.
Compare tools by connector type, plug style, cutting and stripping functions, pass-through compatibility and replaceable die or blade requirements.
RJ45 crimping tools secure modular plugs onto twisted-pair network cable by pressing the plug contacts into the individual conductors and forming the connector strain relief. The tool must match the plug style being installed for a reliable termination.
Conventional modular crimpers may support RJ45, RJ11, RJ12 or several modular connector sizes in one hand tool. Verify the supported plug formats before selecting a crimper, particularly when working with specialty keyed or high-performance network plugs.
Pass-through plugs require a compatible tool that crimps the connector while trimming conductors extending through the front of the plug. A standard closed-end modular crimper may not provide the cutting action required by these connector systems.
Many modular crimping tools incorporate cable cutters and jacket strippers. Combination tools can reduce the number of separate hand tools required during field termination, but cable preparation should still follow the plug manufacturer's dimensional requirements.
Selected crimpers use replaceable cutting blades, dies or other service components. Replacement parts should be matched to the exact tool model because similar-looking blades and dies may use different mounting dimensions.
Identify the plug format first, including whether it is a standard or pass-through design. Then verify conductor and cable requirements, supported connector sizes and any cutting, stripping or replaceable-blade features needed for the installation.
