IR extender systems allow conventional infrared remote controls to operate equipment that is hidden inside a cabinet, located in an equipment rack or installed in another part of a room. The system receives the remote-control command and retransmits it near the controlled equipment.
Complete repeater kits typically combine an IR receiver, connecting or distribution block, emitters and a power source. Kits are useful when installing a new system because the major components are designed to operate together.
Distribution blocks provide connections between one or more IR receivers and multiple emitters. Select a block with enough receiver and emitter ports for the current system while allowing for future equipment where appropriate.
