Shop modular connector housings, crimp pins, socket contacts and related components for wire harnesses, cable assemblies and electronic equipment. Housings and contacts are available in multiple contact counts, pitches, materials and wire-size ranges.
Match the housing, contact and mating connector series carefully to ensure proper mechanical and electrical compatibility.
Many electronic connector systems use separate plastic or metal housings and individual conductive contacts. This allows installers and manufacturers to build cable assemblies with the required number of positions, wire sizes and contact types.
Connector housings position and protect individual electrical contacts while providing the mechanical interface to the mating connector. Housings may differ by position count, pitch, material, latch design and polarization.
Crimp contacts are mechanically attached to conductors using compatible tooling. Pin and socket contacts must be matched to the housing series and appropriate conductor gauge.
A contact's supported wire range affects both mechanical retention and electrical performance. Using contacts outside their specified conductor range can result in unreliable crimps.
Connector pitch describes spacing between contacts. Systems with similar-looking housings may use different contact spacing and therefore cannot necessarily mate.
The connector housing and contacts belong in this category; specialized crimping tools should be classified separately as installation tools rather than as connector components.
