Shop coax cable strippers and preparation tools for RG6, RG59, RG11, RG58 and other coaxial cable constructions. Wallco offers rotary strippers, fixed-depth preparation tools and cutter-stripper designs for preparing cable before F-type, BNC and other coax connector termination.
Compare tools by supported cable series, strip dimensions, number of cutting levels, blade adjustment and connector-preparation requirements.
Coax cable must be stripped to the correct dimensions before a connector can be installed. A dedicated coax preparation tool removes selected jacket, shield and dielectric layers while helping preserve the center conductor and the portions of braid required by the connector design.
RG6 and RG59 are commonly encountered in video, RF and broadband installations. Because shield construction and outside diameter can vary, select a stripper specifically compatible with the cable and connector preparation dimensions being used.
Larger coaxial cable such as RG11 may require different blade spacing and strip dimensions from smaller RG6 or RG59 cable. Verify that the preparation tool explicitly supports the required cable series before use.
Coax strippers may create two or more stepped preparation dimensions in one operation. The required stripping pattern depends on the connector design, so the tool should produce the jacket, braid, dielectric and center-conductor exposure specified for that termination.
Rotary tools cut around the cable circumference as the tool is rotated, while adjustable designs allow blade depth or spacing to be configured for different cable constructions. Proper adjustment helps avoid scoring the center conductor or cutting away required shielding.
Start with the exact cable type and connector being installed, then compare the required strip dimensions with the tool specification. For technicians working with several RG cable sizes, consider a multi-cable or adjustable preparation tool where appropriate.
