Rotary Limit Switches

Shop rotary limit switches for monitoring rotational movement, controlling equipment travel and detecting position in industrial machinery. These switches are commonly used in hoists, cranes, conveyors, doors, gates and other equipment where shaft rotation must trigger an electrical control function.

Wallco supplies rotary limit switches from established manufacturers in a range of contact configurations, gear ratios, electrical ratings and enclosure types. Use the available technical filters to narrow the products by series, voltage, current rating, IP rating and other application requirements.

Selecting a Rotary Limit Switch

Rotary limit switches respond to the rotation of a shaft rather than direct linear contact. Internal cams operate the electrical contacts at predetermined positions, allowing the switch to stop, reverse or signal equipment after a specified amount of movement.

Important selection factors include the required gear ratio, shaft rotation, number of cam positions, contact configuration, electrical ratings, mounting method, enclosure rating and operating environment. The switch must also be configured so the contact points correspond correctly with the equipment’s allowable range of travel.

Products are organized generically so rotary limit switches from different manufacturers can be compared within the same category and technical filters.
